Farewell Fitzroy: Little Creatures Dining Hall to Close its Doors

After eight years, Melbourne’s Little Creatures Dining Hall will be pouring pots of Bright Ale within its spacious walls for the last time this week.

In 2008, the high ceilinged, warehouse-style dining hall in Fitzroy was a major part of introducing Melburnians to the world of craft beer. Now, eight years on, Little Creatures is closing its doors and focusing on its brewery/cellar door in Geelong.

The company has consolidated its Victorian offering, with the White Rabbit brewery in Healesville also packing up and moving operations to the Geelong digs in 2015.

“We are incredibly thankful for all those who have supported us over the past 8 years. Over a million people have passed through our doors in that time, and Little Creatures would not be where it is today without the Dining Hall and all those who started their craft beer journey with us,” Little Creatures Marketing Manager, Ash Cranston, says.

“With the addition of White Rabbit Brewery to the Geelong Little Creatures Brewery site, we focus our energy on developing them to be a must-visit tourist destination in Victoria as our Fremantle Brewery is in W.A.”

The Dining Hall is having one final hurrah on Saturday January 30, which will be its last day of trading. There will be performances and entertainment all day, including music from Creatures’ resident DJs into the night.

“We have a big party planned this weekend to say thanks and would love to see everyone for one last Pale Ale before we close up.”
