The Shaw Davey Slum Rooftop Opening

Recently opened The Shaw Davey Slum, in Carlton is set to open its retractable rooftop bar tonight , June 6, from 5pm.

Head on down to check out this brilliant new venue, with DJ starting at 7pm.

The rooftop has two retractable rooftops giving the space a more casual, outdoor feel than its lower level. “We wanted the top-floor to have a feeling of space and airiness, like you were sitting on your sun deck on a nice sunny afternoon/night” says Anna Carosa, co-owner and interior designer of The Shaw Davey Slum.

The second level begins as you walk up the staircase past a stunning Swarovski crystal chandelier and make your way to the 13 meter long bar, custom-made with concrete and sea shells from numerous beaches around Melbourne. A raised dance floor area with Beatles and pineapple images are a throw back to Australia in the ’60s.

The rooftop section will be open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights from 5pm. And don’t fret, they’re fully decked out with an array heaters, so you can enjoy the stars in comfort.
