Huxtable and the Valley

Melbourne diners will be be treated to an exclusive taste of the Barossa Valley this November when Lachlan Colwill, head chef of South Australia’s award-winning Hentley Farm, comes south to hold a special dining event at Fitzroy’s Huxtable.

Showcased South Australian wines and produce will be expertly paired to create a five-course degustation that includes canapés through to a predessert, and sweet treats to finish. Featured produce may include Schu-am pork from Freeling, (a ten minute drive from the farm), Smokey Bay Oysters, and quail eggs from Hentley Farm.

Huxtable host, Daniel Wilson, suggested the event to Lachlan after a most memorable visit to Hentley Farm, saying “I wanted to bring some of this amazing produce to Melbourne, to create a once in a lifetime experience for our diners.”

Hentley Farm was awarded Winery of the Year at the 2015 Australian Wine Companion Awards and Best Restaurant of The Year and Best Regional Restaurant in The Advertiser 2013.
