Mahalia Simpson at St Hotel

May 26, 2016 @ 7:00 pm

RnBabe St Thursdays is excited to present former X Factor contestant Mahalia Simpson at St Hotel this Thursday 26 May.

The sultry and interactive gig led by RnB singer Sophia Brown rotates a dynamic group of band members on the microphone, keys, bass, beats and electric guitar.

In a few short months, the intimate Thursday night jamming session now packs the St Hotel front bar with a casual crowd from 7:30pm – 10:30pm on Thursdays.

Musician & Founder of Melbourne Music Directory Olive & Stone Sean Marchetti says it’s not your average gig due the wealth of creativity and collaboration with the performers each week.

“It’s not exactly open mic night or karaoke – but we attract such a creative crowd that there always seems to be a musician that puts their hand up to jump on stage.

“This week we’re excited to bring down talent musician Mahalia Simpson – who will be a great addition to the vibe and atmosphere,” said Sean.

Singer Sophia Brown enjoys sharing the microphone with other babes and is excited to recently receive interest from high profile special guests such as popular American Idol contestant DeAndre Brackensick and crowd favourite Mahalia Simpson.

“Initially it was about celebrating a community of female musicians – but it naturally opened up to anyone who’s a babe, creating a unique atmosphere every week”, said Sophia.

St Hotel General Manager Todd McLean says RnBabe St Thursdays has been great for the local community, retaining a regular following.

“We love getting locals down – especially those that are keen for good music, good food and good wine.

“Thursday night is definitely a highlight of my week and it’s been great to watch Sophia and the band find their stride as the night’s developed into a leading destination for those looking for a fun night out,” said Todd.
