Melbourne Cup Day at Saké Restaurant and Bar

Celebrate the Spring Racing Carnival this November at the picturesque riverside Saké Restaurant and Bar. Executive Chef Shaun Presland has handcrafted a fresh and appetising 8-course banquet to contribute to what will be a Tokyo inspired day of fashion, racing, entertainment and celebrations.

To coincide with the Saké Melbourne Cup Day festivities, well renowned Melbourne couturier Jason Grech has crafted a one of a kind Japanese-inspired fascinator (valued at $1000), which will be given away to one lucky customer on the day.

After receiving champagne on arrival, guests will be taken on a culinary journey as they enjoy a selection of contemporary Japanese delights including Wagyu beef tataki, salt and pepper bug-tails and Shaun Presland’s signature dish of steamed “Glacier 51” black cod, a delicious
infusion of black cod with ginger and seared with smoking hot oil, spring onions and sesame chili ponzu.

The race will be showcased live on big screens to ensure that customers can cheer on Japan’s Melbourne Cup favourite, Admire Takti.

Post-race celebrations will continue late into the evening at Saké Restaurant and Bar, with the refined full spring menu, cocktails and a DJ.

Tickets for the Melbourne Cup Day lunch at Saké Restaurant and Bar on November 4 are available at and cost $88.00 per person
