Conditions of Entry

1. Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these Conditions of Entry. Participation in this promotion is deemed acceptance of these Conditions of Entry.

2. Employees and immediate families of the Promoter, stallholders and their agencies associated with this promotion are ineligible. Immediate family means any of the following: spouse, ex-spouse, de-facto spouse, child or step child (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step-parent, grandparent, step grand-parent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister, or 1st cousin.

3. The Promoters reserve the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including an entrant’s identity, age and place of residence) and to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Conditions of Entry or who tampers with the entry process. Failure by the Promoters to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of these rights.

4. Single entry permitted only (per person).

5. Blog posts must not exceed 600 words in total length and must be accompanied with a minimum of one image.

6. To be eligible the entrant must visit the Market and write a blog post about their experience. The post must be added to the entrant’s blog and a minimum of one social media outlet, tagging both Gram Magazine and South Melbourne Market.

7. Social media outlets are classed as the following: Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.

8. The post must broadly cover one of the following three categories: Develop a recipe based on ingredients or experiences from the Market; Interview or profile a stall holder or Market personality; or Review a food outlet at the Market.

9. Promotion commences on 17/6/2014. Entries close and post must be on the entrant’s blog by 5.00pm on 18/7/2014.

10. No responsibility accepted for late, lost or misdirected entries. Incomplete, indecipherable or illegible entries will be deemed invalid.

11. If there is a dispute as to the identity of an entrant, the Promoters reserve the right, in its sole discretion, to determine the identity of the entrant.

12. Entries will be shortlisted by Gram Magazine and South Melbourne Market and the top six will be published on both Promoter’s websites (www.southmelbournemarket.com.au and www.grammagazine.com.au). Finalists’ entries that are posted on the website or published in Gram magazine will not be paid as a part of the standard Gram Magazine contributors agreement, even if the entrant has a pre-existing contributor relationship with Gram Magazine.

13. The winner will be announced and the blog post published on 31/7/14 in edition 42 of Gram Magazine.

14. The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

15. The winner will receive a trip to Queensland to attend the Eat Drink Blog Conference. The prize includes vouchers to the value of $1000 to cover accommodation, flights and admission to the conference. All other ancillary costs, including but not limited to travel insurance, taxes (excluding GST), meals, drinks, transfers, spending money and other transport and any and all other expenses are the responsibility of the prize winner. The conference is being held on 20 – 21 September 2014 at Studio Thirtyfour (34 Wyandra St, Newstead, Brisbane. QLD 4005). No alternate dates or compensation will be offered if the winner or a guest is unable to attend.

16. Two runner-up prizes will be awarded. Food Photography & Styling Workshops with Billy Law valued at $350 for second place and South Melbourne Market Money valued at $150 for third place. The second prize photography and food styling course will take place on August 2, 2014 at Raw Materials Studio (148 Cowper Street, Footscray Vic 3011). The winner of the prize must cover the costs for travel, to and from the venue. No alternate dates or compensation will be offered if the winner or a guest is unable to attend.

17. Prizes, or any unused portion of the prizes, are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash.

18. Prizes will be awarded to the nominated parent or guardian if winner or runners-up are under the age of 18 years.

19. Subject to the unclaimed prize draw clause, if for any reason a winner does not redeem an element of the prize at the time stipulated by the Promoters, then the prize or that element of the prize will be forfeited.

20. If the prize (or part of the prize) is unavailable, the Promoter, in its discretion, reserves the right to substitute the prize (or that part of the prize) with a prize to the equal value and/or specification, subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority.

21. The Promoters may conduct such further draws at the same place as the original draw in order to distribute the prize if it remains unclaimed by the date, subject however to any written directions given by a regulatory authority.

22. If this promotion is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the control of the Promoters, the Promoters reserve the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law (a) to disqualify any entrant; or (b) subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority, to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the promotion, as appropriate.

23. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, The Promoters (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability including negligence), for any personal injury; or loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the Promotion, including, but not limited to, where arising out of the following: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorized access or third party interference; (c) any entry prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not their receipt by the Promoters) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoters; (d) any variation in prize value to that stated in these Conditions of Entry; (e) any tax liability incurred by winner or entrant; or (f) use of the prize.

24. The Promoters collects personal information in order to conduct the Promotion. Entry is conditional on providing this information. Unless otherwise advised, the Promoters may also use the information for promotional, marketing and publicity purposes, including sending electronic message and telephoning the entrant, for an indefinite period. Entrants should direct any request to access, update or correct information to the Promoters.

25. Entrants consent to the Promoters using the entrant’s name, likeness, image and/or voice in the event they are a winner (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same) in any media for any unlimited period without remuneration for the purpose of promoting this competition (including any outcome), and promoting any products manufactured, distributed, and/or supplied by the Promoters.
