Most honest people would admit to the fact that ‘cookie’ temptation is real thing, but struggle with the fine line between nourishing your body and satisfying your soul. Charlie’s new range of Artisan Cookies; made with more of what matters aims to do a little of both!
Run by husband-and-wife team, Ken Mahlab and Jacky Magid and 100% Australian made and owned, Charlie’s is a true Aussie success story. Originally launched in 1994 as Uncle Charlie’s Cookies, Mahlab – a former property developer and film producer – took over in 2004, breathing new life into the ailing company after it went into administration. A big-picture guy, Ken was smart enough to recognise that the reinvigorated Charlie’s needed some seriously sharp business acumen behind it if it was to fulfil its true potential. With this in mind, he later invited Jacky – an accomplished corporate lawyer – to join him in the business in 2007. Since then, the pair has transformed a humble suburban cookie shop into an innovative boutique food service and nationally recognised brand. Along the way they’ve created countless jobs for locals and maintained an ongoing commitment to quality – with each recipe still made on-site and from scratch.
Charlie’s newly created collection is packed with real ingredients and made from scratch, the collection offers an assortment of old favourites and contemporary new flavours that are definitely taste bud teasers. With flavours like; Choc Granola, White Choc Apricot, Choc Salted Caramel, Choc Oat Smarty, Choc Raisin there is something for every tastebud. The range boasts a role-call of wholesome superfood ingredients; Wholegrain Oats, Chia, Quinoa Flakes, Pepita, Sunflower Seeds, Linseeds, Honey, Raisins, Coconut, Dark Couverture Chocolate and even Natural Coloured Smarties for the kid in all of us.
The Australian owned and made collection is designed specifically for Cafes looking for innovative, wholesome and delicious biscuit solutions in both a jar style cookie or a grab & go portion pack. The range includes flavour profiles and ingredients that they themselves would use if they were to bake them in-house.
Jacky Magid, Co-Owner of Charlie’s Cookies says: “I’ve always believed that we should never waste an opportunity to make each moment truly delectable. There is a lot of focus today on wholesome ingredients, particularly when it comes to sweet treats. We wanted to take out some of the ‘guilt’ without taking out any of the joy and flavour. It’s a real opportunity for fellow food lovers to enjoy wholesome AND delicious.”
