N2 Extreme Gelato in Melbourne has been serving up ice-cold sorbets, ice cream, and gelatos for a while now and it feels as though they’re onto something special here. Their location in Fitzroy is central and easy to find.
The walls indicate the menu on offer for the week alongside fun facts about liquid nitrogen; the key chemical component of their delicious creations and the inspiration behind their name. I had the pleasure of trying their vegan coconut cream ice cream; it’s made up of dried coconut, a liberal amount of cocoa nibs, and a frozen chocolate dip courtesy of some liquid nitrogen.
Along with the ice cream comes a novel way to infuse more flavour into this delicious concoction; a syringe filled with warm vegan chocolate ganache. How is it after a good meal? Pure heaven!
