For the third year running, Melbourne will once again be transformed this February when White Night Melbourne plays host to a dazzling series of exhibition, street performances, lighting, installations, film screenings, music, dance and interactive events taking place in the streets and laneways, parklands, public spaces and cultural institutions.
In what is the biggest event to date, Saturday February 20 more than 500,000 people will be mesmerised by 120 works from Australian and international artists.
Originally conceived in Paris in 2002, White Night (Nuit Blanche) has inspired an international network of White Night events in more than 20 cities around the world, creating a tailored event that reflects the city’s distinct passions and characteristics.
As an international city of artistic innovation, Melbourne embraced this unique opportunity created by the State Government, to showcase its city and provide a platform for local, national and international artists to connect with audiences from Melbourne, Australia and around the world, for one night only.
