Wickedly Tasty Feastivies

Sure we weren’t raised in the Swiss Alps with artisan nougat and a reputation as some of the world’s best chocolatiers. But my goodness, Melbourne loves it’s chocolate. The proof is in the self-saucing pudding, as Prahran Market hosts a Wicked Chocolate Festival on Saturday May 7th.

We’re already embarking on some competitive tummy stretching exercises to prepare us for this epic event of feastivities. Come on, we’re not the only crazy chocaholics here, every family has one. Speaking of families, the Wicked Chocolate Festival will play host to a range of free family friendly activities, so the whole family can partake (and pig out).

There will be a ‘Pop Up Chocolate Precinct’, where you can find some of Melbourne’s best chocolate and dessert makers. We’re talking Burch and Purchase, Bibelot, Fritz Gelato, A25 Pizzeria, Butterbing, Pana Chocolate, Doughboys Doughnuts, and—gasp—try saying that ten times fast (while munching on chocolate, of course!).

Chocolatiers and producers will be sharing their expertise with talks from Weiss, Daintree Estate and ChocZero. There will even be cooking demos for those who like to bake their cake and eat it too. Julie Whitehead and Tad Lombardo will be championing the Blanco Kitchen.

As amazing and exciting as all this makes us, there’s something else that really takes the—chocolate—cake. We’ll say it once and let it sink in: A chocolate eating competition. Where, the heck, do we sign up?

If all this sounds a bit devastatingly dairy and unhealthy, then leave, just leave. Only joking, we love salad and chocolate, and for anyone who’s loud n’ proud vegan, there are treats a plenty for you, too. We’ve got our eyes on the raw vegan snickers bars!

Have fun counting the sleeps until the Wicked Chocolate Festival at the Prahran Market. Our brains are already counting chocolate sheep in anticipation.
