It’s be a whole year since the doors opened to Windsor’s Tokyo Tina, and to celebrate, the boys are throwing a party. On Sunday, February 28, the team will be smashing our 450 bowls of their banging new dish, poke and giving them away for free!
If you’re already asking the question, “that’s great guys, but what on earth is Poke”, then you’re not alone. Anticipated to be one of 2016’s top new food trends, Poke originally hails from Hawaii and combines raw fish, citrus, avocado, mango, lime and coconut. Borrowing inspiration from Japan, Toyko Tina has added their own twist on the dish, using salmon instead of the traditional tuna.
“I’m an advocate of sustainable seafood, so I choose salmon over tuna wherever possible”, says Executive Chef and partner Adrian Li.
“We’re excited to be the first to introduce poke to the people of Melbourne. It’s fresh, healthy and served cold so perfect as a light summer lunch or dinner.” adds Adrian.
The first 450 orders of this refreshing new dish will be on the house when ordered in the restaurant between 12pm and 4pm on Sunday, February 28.
