Where to Eat on Christmas Day

For many of us, Christmas is all about food – but maybe not about the blood sweat and tears of making your own Christmas feast. So we here at team GRAM thought we’d give you the best Christmas gift of all – a guide to Christmas Day food in Melbourne!

For festive feasting at some of Melbourne’s best restaurants, here are some lovely luncheons and delightful dinners showcasing Melbourne’s gastronomic best. Merry Christmas, bottoms up, cheers, bone apple tea…

Eureka 89 | Lunch
12:30pm – 4:00pm
$260 adults, $80 children, $160 teenagers

Have some splendid views with a side of four courses of feasting! Spanner crab rolls, cured cob, brined poussin and run and vanilla sticky date pudding. Just a little sampler of the splendid festive feast at Eureka 89!

The Hotel Windsor | Dinner
6:30pm – 9:30pm
$299 adults, $125 children, $215 teenagers

Think house cured ocean trout ‘ham, roasted grapes, macadamia and radish. Although to be honest we’re (slightly) more excited for the Christmas pudding with chestnut crème and brandy sauce.

Bang Pop | Lunch
12pm – 4pm

Bang Pop’s Christmas Lunch has been aptly described as an ‘epic, blinged-out tuk tuk menu’. Literally feast on a seven course Thai banquet. YURGHM.

Akachochin | Lunch
12pm – 4pm
$66 or $99 with drinks, $12 kids, $29 teenagers

Who said you can’t have Japanese food on Christmas day? Definitely not the team at Akachochin! Celebrate in style with their five course banquet menu, this Christmas lunch.

The Grosvenor Hotel | Lunch
From 11am
$95 adults, $35 children

Three course feasting with all your festive requirements. Turkey, seafood or premium Gippsland beef. With your pick of the three, there’s no arguing over who gets what at the dinner table!

QT Melbourne’s Pascale Bar & Grill | Lunch

Make a night of it with QT (or just pop by for lunch). A glass of champagne is the prelude to a luxurious three course Christmas lunch at Pascale Bar & Grill, and we really do mean luxurious, with foie gras and truffle puffs, bite-size oyster burgers, fruit de mer platter, and your choice of wood roasted suckling pig, free range turkey, or salt bush spinach pasta. Don’t forget the Christmas pud, the eggnog, and all with a cherry on top—literally, they’re serving bowls of fresh iced cherries to finish.

Munich Brauhaus | Lunch
From 12pm

Don’t expect much to change from the regular Munich Brauhaus menu, but if crispy pork knuckle and apple strudel are your thing, then what better way to spend Christmas lunch! Be prepared for some festive (and kid friendly) activities on the day.

Meat Market South Wharf | Lunch

Three scrumptious courses with a glass of G.H. Mumm to boot. What’s not to love? Oh, did we mention #ALLYOUCANEATMEAT?

Bohemian Bar and Restaurant | Lunch
12pm – 4pm

The Bohemian Bar and Restaurant in South Wharf is known for its sexy Spanish cuisine. Head down for Christmas lunch set menu including drinks and dessert. There will also be a kids menu available for the little tackers.
