Bendigo Regional Tourism has today launched The Bendigo Region Food & Wine Fossicking app designed to help visitors to the region to get the most out of their visit.
Featuring interactive maps, guides, local business listings, photographs and social media links, Bendigo Regional Tourism chair Paula Nixon said “the app places travellers and locals in direct contact with venues and rural properties eager to showcase their wares”.
“Many of our food, wine and cider producers offer cellar door and farm gate experiences now. They’re building relationships directly with consumers, and in particular, with visitors,” she said.
The app features more than 50 foodie heroes, from Simply Green Tomatoes in Boort, to Bress winery and orchard in Harcourt, the award-winning Heathcote Wine Hub to Bendigo Wholefoods.
“It’s a great example of what can be achieved when passionate people put their energies together,” Ms Nixon said.
