Free Food and Wine Festival in Central Park

The inaugural East Malvern Food & Wine Festival, Sunday 27 November 2016 in picturesque Central Park, Malvern, will be a culinary community event to remember!

The festival presents 10 days of local East Malvern trader’s events matched with regional wineries, and culminates in this FREE family day in the park – bring your picnic rug, and enjoy the entertainment, kids activities, and support local wines and traders.  Canine family members also welcome!

Sip and savour your way through over 100 wines and an extensive array of invited local and regional culinary exhibitors and artisan producers of international and Australian cuisines.

A vast range of exquisite wineries from twenty-two Bendigo and Heathcote regions will be showcased. Come and enjoy a unique and intimate experience, meet the passionate winemakers and learn about, taste and purchase their premium award winning wines.

Feast from local Melbourne favourites including Richmond Oysters, That’s Amore Cheeses, Top Grill Teppanyaki, Spanish Gourmet Caterers, Trailer Made and The Brulee Cart.

Bring your shopping baskets and stock up with the best of Victorian produce, including locally produced cheeses, gourmet condiments and bespoke Christmas puddings and festive season fare from artisanal producers such as Tolpuddle Goat Cheese and Farm Foods, Josh and Sue, The Broth Sisters, Pud for all Seasons, In2Tea and Uncle’s Smallgoods.

Ten diverse local businesses including Velvet Lily florist, Real Fit Gym and Magic School of Confidence will also be represented in an East Malvern Traders showcase marquee.

 THE 10 DAY EAST MALVERN FOOD AND WINE FESTIVAL

We warm up the festival celebrations with a 10-day lead up program of events in and around East Malvern precinct including wine tastings at various local Malvern retail IGA outlets and the Local Butcher.

Wine specials at several local restaurants and establishments including One Misty Guy, Tom Pockett Cellars, Little Oak Eatery and The Racecourse Hotel.

Attend a ‘meet the wine maker’ lunch or dinner, where local East Malvern chefs and Bendigo and Heathcote wine makers collaborate to create specialty menus with matched regional wines at Via Fratelli, Nepal Dining Room and The Greek Tavern, or take part in a ‘meet the wine maker’ cocktail party at the spectacular The Gables reception centre.

Don’t miss out on tasting the new release Rose and Sauvignon from award-winning Balgownie Estate and Museum Shiraz from Newbridge Wines. Choose from a tantalizing range including Shiraz and Cabernet blends and Chardonnays and lesser known varietals including Nero D’Avola, Tempranillo, Fiano and Marsanne.

The event was launched by the City of Stonnington Mayor and is expecting over 4,000 visitors to the event in Central Park and over 2,000 to participate in the 10 day event series.
